Born on April 1, 1963, Governor Eduardo B. Gadiano started his career in public service as barangay captain of Brgy. Pag-Asa, Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro from 1994-1998. He was elected as a member of Sangguniang Bayan of Sablayan from 1998-2001. He served three consecutive terms as Sablayan Vice Mayor from 2001-2010. He then elected as Mayor of Sablayan completing three terms from 2010-2019 and has been a catalyst of change putting the Municipality of Sablayan into the forefront of one of the most progressive municipalities in the Province of Occidental Mindoro.

Under his three terms, he bagged 2011, 2015, 2017 and 2018 Seal of Good Local Governance, 2019 Most Outstanding Mayor Award, Hall of Famer- Rice Achievers Award, Hall of Famer- National Quality Corn Achievers Award and Gawad Paglilingkod Sambayan Award.

He is on his second term as the Governor of the Province of Occidental Mindoro, after winning the 2022 National and Local Elections under Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS) and has officially taken oath of office on June 28, 2022.

His remarkable accomplishments as the Local Chief Executive of the Province of Occidental Mindoro are the AKAP-HUB Program, payment of the previous administrations’ cash deficit, province-wide Serbisyo Caravan & Ugnayan sa Barangay through PTF-ELCAC, COVID-19 response, Balik Sigla sa Agrikultura, Sea & PTV ambulances, Financial and Livelihood Assistance, Infrastructure, Restoration of Occidental Mindoro Rivers and its Tributaries, to name a few.

He was twice awarded as Governor of the Year in 2021, 2021 Outstanding Public Servant of the Year, Good Financial Housekeeping Passer, Most Sustainable and Livable Province, Best Implementor of the Project under CMGP, Fully Compliant Province — Gawad KALASAG Seal for Local DRRM Councils and Offices Awardee for CY 2022, 2022 SubayBAYANI Special Awards for Notable Performance in Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP), and takes pride as the economy of the Province of Occidental Mindoro posted a growth of 9.4 percent in 2021, a rebound from -4.1 percent decline in the previous years.

Coined as iHEARTS, Governor Eduardo B. Gadiano laid his administration’s developmental thrusts through the following:

✅Infrastructure Development and Indigenous People Welfare

-Alleviation of poverty through infrastructure development and innovation. Setting sustainable economic growth advancement and working towards enhancing the condition of life for the poor.

✅Health and Housing Development

-Strong pursuit to an accessible, free quality healthcare to every Mindoreño and build habitable and affordable communities through socialized housing programs.

✅Economic Growth and Development, Environment Protection & Conservation, and Education

-Encouraging comprehensive and viable financial development amongst local business-owners and stakeholders and employment for all.

✅Agricultural Development

-Innovation of new agricultural system and resources that would support local farmers and crop producers towards sustainable farming development.

✅Reduction of Poverty Reforms and Good Governance

-Eradicating poverty through virtuous governance and constitutional reforms that would promote economic progress and decrease poverty rates especially among poverty-stricken members of the community and indigenous people.

✅Tourism and Transport Development

-Highlighting the beauty and different wonders of the province through strategic tourism promotion that would generate opportunities through employment. Development of transportation system providing socio-economic benefits and improving the welfare of the society.

✅Security, Sport and Spiritual Development and Social Services

-Integrating holistic approach in addressing all services through social, moral, cultural and spiritual development policy that would generate citizen empowerment and community development.
