The Provincial Health Office (PHO), working together with various agencies and in partership with the seven community hospitals across Occidental Mindoro, led multiple initiatives aimed at improving healthcare delivery in the province. The seven hospitals involved are Occidental Mindoro Provincial Hospital (OMPH), Paluan Community Hospital (PCH), San Sebastian District Hospital (SSDH), Sta. Cruz Community Hospital (SCH), San Jose District Hospital (SJDH), Lubang District Hospital (LDH), and Abra de Ilog Municipal Hospital (ADIMH). These hospitals provided essential health services ranging from inpatient and outpatient care to laboratory services and other health related initiatives. The PHO also ensured that the facilitie met the required standards for operation and played a critical role in overseeing hospital bed accupancy and operations to accomodate the increasing healthcare needs of the population.

The PHO laso emphasozed addressing the leading health concerns in the region. Among the most frequest cases in the Emergency Room (ER) were wound injuries, hypertensive diseases, and acute gastroenteritis. These conditions led to a siginificant number of ER visits, indicating ongoing public health challenges that require continued attention and resources. Additionally, common causes for consultations in the Outpatient Depertment (OPD) included animal bites and urinary tract infections (UTI), both of which were prevalent in the province and reflected key health priorities. The PHO’s proactive measures aimed to reduce the frequency of these cases through health educational and preventives.
