The province of Occidental Mindoro has rich natural resources that can be used in attaining economic growth and development. One potential industry that can be derived from these resources is mining. In observance and compliance to the provisions under RA No. 7076 and under Section 11 of EO No. 79, the province collected a total amount of Php 32,555,400.92 from the tax on sand and gravel quarry activities.
As one of the province’s efforts to protect and conserve its environment and natural resources, the Provincial Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP) was formulated.
