Economic Growth and Development, Environmental Protection and Conservation, and Education

Maximizing revenue generation through the efficient collection of local taxes is one of the strategies being implemented by the administration to improve the financial capacity of the province.

The administration of Gadiano believes that natural resources activities represent a growing share of the economy.

As one of the province’s efforts to protect and conserve its environment and natural resources, the Provincial Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP) continues its implementation within the province.

The Provincial Planning and Development Office continued the implementation of the Conservation Rehabilitation of Aquatic for Livelihood Sustainability Program. Among the activities are Open Water Dive Training, Reef Check Assessment, Symposium on Environmental Protection and Conservation, Reef Clean Up/ SCUBAsurero/Crown of Thorns Collection, Marine Protected Area (MPA) Management Planning Workshop and practices (SEA-KAP) Survey.

A local school board (LSB) is a special body created under of Republic Act No. 7160, also known as the Local Government Code of 1991 (LGC 91). Its main duty is to allocate the Special Education Fund (SEF) to meet the supplementary needs of the local public school system.

In 2022. the Province of Occidental Mindoro through the leadership of Governor Ed won the 2022 SubayBAYANI Special Awards for Notable Performance in Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP) from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
