Tourism Development
Tourism is an industry that has the potential to be an engine of growth for any municipality, city or province. It is deemed as one of the contributors in
increasing local revenue generation.
Provision of infrastructures leading to tourist destinations, support for the conduct of festivals and events, and the implementation of tourist promotion plans are few of interventions of the provincial government for the development and promotion of tourism in the province.
The Mount Iglit-Baco Natural Park Multi-Purpose Hall and Dormitory funded by he DOT-TIEZA amounting to Php 2,670,501. 93 were turned over to the LGU of Calintaan on January 12, 2019.
Constructions of access roads to tourist destinations in four municipalities in he province are included in the National Expenditure Program (NEP) for CY2020 as part of the DOT-DPWH Convergence Program for the Tourism Road Infrastructure Program Convergence (TRIPC) Projects. The PGO-Tourism assisted the Minicipal Tourism Offices in accomplishing necessary documents for their project proposals.
The PGO-Tourism Office also assisted the DOT-MIMAROPA in conducting activities relative to the department’s advocacy for sustianable tourism development; implementation of tourism standards and regulations; and tourism promotion and marketing.
