PGOM Worked to Enhance the Province’s Tourism Industry
Occidental Mindoro, known as the abode of the second-largest island in the Philippines, is as province that boasts rich natural resources, a vibrant culture, and diverse tourist attractions. With its stunning beaches, lush mountains, and unique indigenous heritage, the province is poised to become a premier destination for both local and international tourists. As a hub of ecological and cultural richness, Occidental Mindoro offers unparalleled experiences that highlight the beauty and authenticity of the region, making it an ideal location for sustainable tourism development.

In 2024, the Provincial Government of Occidental Mindoro, under the leadership of Governor Ed gadiano, worked to enhance the province’s tourism industry. The Provincial Tourism Office updated its promotional materials, including brochures and videos, and set up a Tourist Information Counter at San Jose Airport to assist visitors. These efforts helped provide tourists with easy access to important information and lwft a positive first impression of the province. The province also took part in major trade fairs such as Obra MIMAROPA and the Central Philippines Travel Expo, where local products and cultural performances were showcased. Additionally, events like the Arawatan Festival and World Tourism Day 2024 highlighted the province’s culture and promoted sustainable tourism. To further develop tourism, the provincial government organized capacity-building programs and workshops to equip stakeholders with the skills and knowledge needed to support growth while ensuring sustainability and community involvement.
