IMPLEMENTING VARIOUS PROJECTS, SUCH AS THE CONSTRUCTION OF MULTI-PURPOSE BUILDINGS AND COMMUNITY INFRASTRACTURE

Under the leadership of Governor Eduardo B. gadiano, the Provincial Government of Occidental Mindoro has made poverty alleviation a primary objective in enhancing the well-being of its people. Governor Gadiano aims to reduce perverty by implementing programs that create sustainable livelihoods, promote economic growth, and ensure the every resident has access to essential resources and opportunities for a better life.

The Provincial Government, through its Municipal and barangay Affairs Program, supports the development of barangays by emplementing various projects, such as the construction of multi-purpose buildings and community infrastructure. In 2024, the Municipal Barangay Affairs Office (MBAO) allocated Php 51, 521, 826.00 to improve the socio economic conditions of municipalities and barangays. The MBAO recognized top-performing municipalities, including Abra de Ilog, Calintaan, and Lubang, by providing financial assistance. It also supported 34 individuals, 30 associations, 93 national government agencies, 79 barangays, and 2 municipalities with construction projects, repairs, and equipment. The office carried out the Ugnayan sa Barangay program to improve coordination and communication, ensuring successful project implementation. Additonally, the MBAO focused on capacity-building programs to enhance the skills of local officials and community leaders, helping them manage resources and drive sustainable development in their areas.

The Public Employment Service Division (PESD) has been instrumental in supporting employment and carrer development in Occidental Mindoro by offering various job-related programs. In 2024, PESD provided opportunities through the Government Internship Program (GIP) for 75 youth, the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) for 134 students, and the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantage/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program, which helped 4, 236 displaces workers. The division also assisted 391 job seekers through job fairs and provided livelihood assistance to 30 Group Worker Associations. Additionally, PESD supported over 15,000 individuals with Labor Market Information and helped resolved labor-related cases, all while promoting job creation and empowering the local workforce.
